I was thinking about posting about death and all (not mine, I assure you) but I think I'll change that to country music. lol. Okay, let me explain. Its about "O Brother Where Art Thou", which I saw on DVD quite a while ago at PACA as part of the Debate team (which later became movie appreciation class). I loved the movie (which isn't fresh out of my mind so I won't post anything about it from imdb.com), but the soundtrack was even better. I'm sort of the person with a rather peculiar taste when it comes to music, and if its anything aside from heavy metal, noise, punk, r&b (some I like, but not all) and reggae, I can and most likely will find something I like. Which is the reason why when people ask what music I listen to, they end up signing off (on MSN) before I finish. Which is why when they see my music list they ask, "What is it that you like?" But if its good, I don't care. So here's what I liked from the "O Brother Where Art Thou?" soundtrack. (The site is really sweet. Click on Preview the Music button): In the Jailhouse Now, Big Rock Candy Mountain, and, not surprisingly, I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow. They're all absolutely hilarious, even more so because they sound so serious with the ridiculous banjo.

Speaking of which, I saw Unfaithful (2002), a movie starring Diane Lane and Richard Gere. I didn't see the raunchier parts of the movie just because I missed it (yes, I saw it on the telly) so rest assured what I watched was perfectly PG-13 appropriate. Anyways, I really could understand how Edward Sumner (Richard Gere) felt when he murders Paul Martel (Olivier Martinez) after he finds out his wife, Connie (Diane Lane) had an adulterous affair with him. Its a typical movie, not worth going to the corner video store and fishing out however much it takes to rent it. Just well made. Richard Gere plays his part as a distraught and devastated man very well, so much so that I could somehow relate to how he feels every step of the way, because if I were in his shoes, I'd have done exactly the same thing. Two stars out of five for explicit material I did not see, and for the somewhat unsatisfactory ending, as well as unexplained gaps in the movie.
